Member Data Privacy and Security Statement

The adult volunteer leaders ("Scouters") in the Mustang District of Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America have established this web site ("Our Site") to facilitate communication among the scouting community in Mustang District, and to provide information to others interested in scouting in the Mustang District.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe online experience to the Scouters and Scouts who utilize Our Site. This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for Our Site. Because Mustang District wants to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy, we have agreed to disclose its information practices. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Our Site and governs data collection and usage. By using Our Site, you consent to the data practices and policies described in this statement.

Mustang District is the sole owner of the information collected and provided on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. We do not collect information from visitors at Our Site.

Mustang District provides Mustang District Scouts and Scouters with access to an online directory of Merit Badge Counselors, which is available in the access-restricted member section of Our Site. Only those items of personal information that an individual member chooses to make available to other members will be provided ("Member Data"). One registered adult leader from each unit in Mustang District will be provided with a password giving access to Member Data for that individual unit. Member Data is provided solely for the purpose of ensuring that Scouts have access to registered Merit Badge Counselors who can aid them in the completion of the various Merit Badges available to Boy Scouts. Any other use of the Member Data provided in the access-restricted member section of Our Site is strictly prohibited. Any member responsible for the dissemination to any non-Scout or Scouter of Member Data provided in the access-restricted member section of Our Site will cease to have access to this information. Furthermore, the password for that unit will be revoked and the entire unit will cease to have access to Member Data.

Transfers of Member Data onto a hard disk or any other form of shared resource system, including, but not limited to a mainframe computer, is prohibited.

Recipients of Member Data by virtue of their membership in Mustang District assume full responsibility for adherence to these practices and policies.
